Minor Maintenance Contractor

The ECID has a requirement for certain minor maintenance work to be carried out in Epping 1 and Epping 2. The maximum value at any one time will be R7 500, companies are invited to contact the ECID Assistant Manager, Lizette Johnstone on 084 526 3918 for further details.

Bokomo’s Bonus Oats Donation

The ECID received a donation of 69 boxes of instant oats from Bokomo Foods which was distributed to The SOS in Langa and the Church of the Nazarene in Bonteheuwel.

Feeding Scheme for February 2013

The first food items for 2013 were handed out to our 2 deserving charity organisations;
100 kg of mealie meal donated by Premier Foods, 20 boxes of instant oats donated by Bokomo Foods, 10 pockets each of potatoes, onions, butternut, sweet potatoes and 4 pockets of gem squash all donated by Capepots / Propots, 2 tins of coffee, 2kg each of peanut butter and jam, 24 cans each of baked beans, peas and pilchards, 4 packets of lentils and 10kg of rice.
We once again thank all our sponsors for the continued dedication to this initiative in helping the less fortunate.

GlaxoSmithKline Cape Town Factory Wins GSK Global Energy Trophy

Cape Town,Epping Industria-GSK Cape Town factory was awarded the GSK-Global Manufacturing Supply (GMS) Energy Trophy which is an annually contested trophy awarded to the site with the best energy management programme.
This prestigious award has put Cape Town on the GSK Energy map and marks the first time that the trophy has been held on the African continent. Previous Energy Trophy title holders were Irvine and Barnard Castle sites in the UK and Sonepat in India.GSK employs approximately 110000 people, of which 26000 are employed by 74 factories in 31 countries that report into the central Energy management data base. All of the sites were screened by GSK’s Global Energy Managemnet Team and Cape Town was selected as one of 16 sites shortlisted to submit a presentation. The top six sites were:Nabha (India), Ware (UK), Imaichi (Japan), Eveux/NDB (France), Biopharms (USA) and Cape Town (South Africa).The energy trophy is awared to the site that achieves the best combined result against a set of criteria including:1. Performance-Project portfolio, behavioural programmes, use of technology, innovation, process    improvements, 2013+plans , renewable energy projects.2. Sharing-Case studies, sharing with other sites, CCERP (Climate Change & Energy Reduction Project) team engagement, budget setting and reporting, Energy Kaizen support etc.3. Site Circumstances-Specific challenges and constraints that the site has successfully mitigated that could have impacted energy reduction ativity and the ability to deliver it.

ECID Feeding Scheme for August 2012

We were once again able to make a generous donation to Church of the Nazarene in Bonteheuwel and SOS in Langa. 100kg of mealie meal donated by Premier Foods, 28 boxes of oats donated by Bokomo Foods, 2 tins of coffee, 4 tubs of peanut butter, 2 tubs of jam, 4 packets of dry soup mix, 24 cans each of mixed vegetables, baked beans and pilchards donated by Giant Hyper and 14 pairs of shorts and 104 shirts donated anonymously were handed out. Accepting on behalf of Church of the Nazarene is Reverend Stan Martin and for SOS Langa is Nokuthula together with some of their volunteers. We once again thank all our sponsors for their continued dedication to this initiative in helping the less fortunate.

The ECID made a delivery of the following items; 100kg of mealie meal donated by Premier Foods, 4 cases of  oats donated by Bokomo Foods, 2 x 1kg peanut butter, 2 x 950g jam, 1000 tea bags, 24 cans mixed vegetables, 24 cans baked beans, 24 cans pilchards, 10 kg rice and 4 packets dry soup mix donated by Giant Sweets and +/- 200 shirts donated anonymously to SOS Langa pictured on the left with a few of their volunteers and the Church of the Nazarene in Bonteheuwel, pictured on the right with Reverend Stan Martin and Danny Zeederberg.

The ECID delivered the following items to the Church of the Nazarene in Bonteheuwel pictured on the right and SOS Langa pictured on the left. 100kg of mealie mealie donated by Premier Foods, 60 kg of oats donated by Bokomo Foods, 24 cans each of pilchards, baked beans and peas, 10 kg rice, 2 packets each of lentils and dry soup mix, 2 tins of coffee, 2 kg peanut butter, and 2.4 kg apricot jam donated by Giant sweets, 26 pockets of potatoes, 16 pockets of squash, 16 pockets of onions and 18 boxes of tomatoes donated by Propots. We again thank our sponsors for their generous contributions to helping those less fortunate.
