Feeding Scheme for October & November 2015

HOPE-Nov 15            LBC-Oct+Nov 15 (2)

The following food items were handed out to our 2 deserving charity organisations; 4 x 750 g coffee, 2400 tea bags, 4 kg each of peanut butter and jam, 15 kg each of dry soup mix and lentils, 40 kg samp, 48 cans each of pilchards and baked beans all donated by Giant Hyper. 2 x 50 kg gravity beans and 10kg rice donated by Pioneer Foods.

On the 21st September another 38 Real Yellowwood trees were planted on the buffer between Bofors Circle and Viking Way. The 38 trees were donated by Bevcan who together with the ECID share an interest in greening the area. Cllr’s. Clive Justus and Michael Britz also attend the tree planting. We once again with to thank Essential for all their hard work in planting the balance of the trees.

The ECID handed over 4 x 750 g coffee, 2400 tea bags, 4 kg each of peanut butter and jam, 20 kg each of dry soup mix & lentils, 40 kg samp, and 48 cans each of pilchards and baked beans all donated by Giant Hyper, 7 pockets baby potatoes, 19 pockets onions, 1 pockets squash, 4 pockets sweet potatoes and 3 boxes tomatoes  donated by Cape Pots to  Akhona Ngaka, Sylvia Matiza & Odwa Dlulane from the Langa Baptist Church (top left) and Rev. Stan Martin from House of Prayer Ecclesia in Bonteheuwel (top right)

Greening Epping

On the 1st September the ECID together with from Essential Cleaning Lehuma Maja, Thulani Qubanisa, Leonardo Hass and Jonathan Hendricks (top right) planted 50 Real Yellowwood trees on the buffer between Bofors Circle and Viking Way. On hand to join in the planting was ECID Director John Dammert from GABS (middle left) Cllr. Clive Justus (middle center) and Cllrs. Michael Britz and Clive Justus (middle right), Lizette Johnstone and Tony Bartram (bottom left) and Cllr. Michael Britz (bottom right).

We wish to thank all who attended the tree planting as well as the team from Essential for all their hard work.

Real Yellowwoods are indigenous to the Western Cape.

Mandela Day 2015

In honour of Mandela Day, Laser Transport organised a charitable donation of sandwiches, hot dogs and snack packs for the children and elderly members of the Langa Baptist Church community.  The distribution took place on the on 24th July, a week after Mandela Day as arrangements needed to be finalised with the contacts at the Langa Baptist Church.

The ECID completed another project, this time installing tables and benches on the traffic island in Packer Avenue to provide a comfortable space for staff from neighboring companies to enjoy their down time. We wish to thank Leonardo Haas and his team members from Essential Cleaning, who kindly installed the furniture on our behalf.

The ECID handed out the following food items to the House Of Prayer Ecclesia Bonteheuwel and the Langa Baptist Church; 2 pockets baby potatoes, 1 pocket each of squash & sweet potatoes,  3 pockets butternut and 5 pockets onions, all kindly donated by Cape Pots, 4 x 750g coffee, 2000 tea bags, 4 kg peanut butter, 4 kg jam, 48 cans each of pilchards and baked beans, 5 kg of lentils, 10 kg dry soup mix, 10 kg samp & beans and 40 kg of samp kindly donated by Giant Hyper.
